Energizer LED Headlamp
February 12, 2008 - By Gregor Rohrig
This review is about a headlamp. Yes, a headlamp. Headlamps are gadgets too you know!
Is a headlamp worth an actual review you might ask? Well, I think so. I used to have the Energizer LED Headlamp stored away in the boot of my car. The idea was that if I had any sort of car troubles at night (i.e. a flat tire) I would be able to fix the problem in the dark, using both my hands, with the LED headlamp shedding some light.

Shedding light is exactly the reason I am writing this review. The shedding of power is currently a major issue in South Africa, and I have resorted to stocking up on batteries and candles for when Eskom decides to turn us off. The other day I could not find my torch when I was left in total darkness and proceeded fetching my headlamp from the car. It was indeed a wise decision, since I was able to finish the braai I started and setting the table. The headlamp seems to be the perfect tool during these dark days.
The LED headlamp which I use is lightweight, comfortable to wear, and very, very bright. It does make me look like a lost mine worker, however who cares about looks when it is dark anyways. The body of the light is made of plastic. It includes a 2-point headstrap, which is easy adjustable. The headlamp takes 3 AAA batteries that should last up to 50 hours, making this a very cost effective, useful, unit.
So let’s get the technical mumbo-jumbo out of the way:
- 3 Hi-Power LED’s w\Magnify Lens.
- Two White & One Red LED Light
- Three position slide switch.
- Comfort-Fit Headband.
- Made with tough ABS plastic.
- Runs 50 hours between battery change.
- Shatterproof lens.
- Directional light.
- Hands free.
- Light weight and compact.
- LED light never needs replacing.
- Uses 3 AAA Batteries Included.
- Lifetime warranty.
Happy shining…
