Toshiba launches money-back guarantee on Tecra A9
February 20, 2008 - By Guest Reviewer
If you buy a Toshiba Tecra A9 laptop between the 1st Feb and the 30th April 2008 and the notebook develops a technical fault within one year of the purchase date, not only will Toshiba fix the laptop for free, but they will also refund you the entire purchase price of your laptop!
It’s a very bold and aggressive move from Toshiba and they’re putting their money where their mouth is with the launch of its Toshiba Promise Tecra A9 promotion. We haven’t tested one of these machines yet (we’re getting one soon) but speaking to Toshiba’s PR company I’m told that the A9 series has a failure rate of only 0.002% which is part of the reason why they feel so confident.
The Toshiba A9 laptop range incorporates Intel Core2 Duo-based Centrino, up to 2GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, a double-layer DVD Super-Multi drive and a 15.4″ WXGA TFT display. Prices range from R10,595 to R13,667 and it’s available online as well as at all major stores.
The offer is valid on new notebook purchases and is open to residents of South Africa who bought them in SA. In case you’re wondering the promotion applies to Tecra A9-132, Tecra A9-12P, Tecra A9-12T and Tecra A9-14F models and as a standard they come with a 3 year warranty.
In order to participate in the program you need register your product within seven days of purchase via the standard warranty page on the Toshiba Promise website.
I’ve personally never seen an offer like this from any laptop manufacturer in the country before and if I was in the market for a high-end business laptop I’d buy this one without a doubt.

Wow, if a manufacturer is willing to make such a guarantee, it has to be real sure about their product
