Nintendogs and Mario Kart for DS Lite
March 19, 2008 - By Gregor Rohrig
Here is a list of two popular Nintendo DS Lite games with a brief synopsis and rating.
Nintendogs:
Nintendogs is for those gamers who enjoy taking care of virtual pets, in this case extremely cute puppies and is very reminiscent of the 1996 Tamagotchi handheld digital pet created in 1996.
Users can choose to take care and train up to sixteen different breeds of dogs. Using the stylus and the microphone, users need to train their dogs, by teaching them commands and behavior patterns, to send them to dog shows in order to win prize money. The prize money can then be used to buy toys, accessories, and food for the dog, or to even buy a new puppy.
The puppies behave very life-like and are extremely engaging. The interface is straightforward, intuitive, and allows for interactive game play.
It’s a game that requires not just patience, but a soft heart too.
The game is available in three versions “Chihuahua and Friends”, “Dachshund and Friends”, and “Shiba and Friends”.
Nintendogs is for the young gamer, or those who have no dogs and really want some.
Overall rating: 7.5/10
Mario Karts
At first Mario Karts looks like a very uncomplicated racing game – and it actually is, when playing single player.
However, this karting game comes to life when two or more players engage in the multiplayer scenario. Using the DS wireless /Wi-Fi system, which is very stable once a connection has been established, one can choose between a variety of Mario Bros characters and carts. The racing cast includes Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, Bowser and Toad.
The fun begins during game play, when trying to outsmart the opponent by collecting special items which can either enhance your driving or sabotage the opponent. Eight players can play simultaneously with just one copy of the game, however with a limited amount of tracks.
Advanced users can also learn how to skid, drift, and hop around corners. This game is great fun, and highly recommended for multiplayer users.

I cant see me ever playing something like this, talking about a hand held console, but then again, things change, and the mario cart sure seems interesting enough
